Raider Baseball Takes Down the Pioneers in Run-Rule Win

Raider Baseball defeats Western Oklahoma State College in their midweek match up in a seven innings run rule.

Pioneers 4, Raiders 15 (7 innings)

RSC uses only seven of their nine innings to defeat the Western Oklahoma State College Pioneers 15-4 at home on Tuesday.

Western Oklahoma opened the scoring in the first after a single scored one run.
 
RSC answered back in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 5-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Joseph Heard that drove in two Raider runs.
 
Two more runs were added to the Raider lead in the third inning. Cole Barton singled on the seventh pitch of the at-bat, making the score 7-3.
 
RSC was not done just yet, as they scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Silas Voegely tripled, scoring one run, Gabe Martinez hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Glynn Wilson singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and a wild pitch scored another.

Jacob Hogan earned the win. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out six and walking two. Jackson Warner appeared in relief for the Raiders. In his two innings, he gave up two hits and one run, struck out three and walked two.
 
Raider Baseball tallied 14 hits in the single game. Voegely and Brodie Hinson were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three. Heard, Barton, and Wilson each collected multiple hits also. Martinez paced the Raiders with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks total. Defense was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
