Raider Baseball Finishes With a Split in Poteau

Game one; Vikings 4, Raiders 7
 
Blake Seefeldt collected three hits in four at bats, as Raider Baseball defeated Carl Albert State College 7-4 on Friday at Carl Albert State College in Poteau, Oklahoma. Seefeldt hit a solo home run to left field in the sixth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the second inning.
 
A home run to right field by the Vikings put them on the board in the bottom of the first.
 
Seefeldt singled in the top of the third, which helped Raider Baseball tie the game at two. But, in the bottom of the third, a sacrifice fly by Carl Albert gave them back the lead, 3-2.
 
RSC Baseball tied it back up in the top of the sixth with a homer to left field by Seefeldt.
 
Raiders jumped into the lead in the top of the seventh when the Vikings induced Wyatt Fielding to hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run. Jordan Dehoyos drew a walk, scoring another run. Silas Voegely hit into a fielder's choice, bringing in two more runs. Raiders finished the top of seventh with a lead of 7-4.
 
Isaac Thornton led things off on the bump for the Raiders. The righty allowed six hits and three runs over three innings, striking out four and walking none. Drew Sheppard earned the win while working in relief, surrendering only two hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking one.
 
RSC Baseball accumulated nine hits in the game. Glynn Wilson collected two hits in three at bats. Raiders were sure handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Gabe Martinez at catcher had the most chances in the field with 10.
 
Game two; Vikings 5, Raiders 1
 
Raider Baseball fell short to the Vikings 5-1 in game two on Friday.
 
Carl Albert State College got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after a ground out and a double, each scoring one run. The Vikings added another run in the third with a single.
 
Jacob Hogan took the loss for the Raiders. The left-handed pitcher went three innings, surrendering three runs on five hits, striking out two and walking two.
 
Cole Barton, Joseph Heard, and Drake Jones each collected one hit for the Raiders.
 
Raider Baseball will be back in action on Tuesday with an away game at Redlands Community College. Full schedule can be found here.
