Raider Baseball Takes the Sweep Against NCTC

Game one: NCTC 0, Raiders 8
 
Raiders Baseball easily dispatched North Central Texas College on Monday in Gainvesville, 8-0.
 
Raiders Baseball jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Wyatt Fielding was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Silas Vogely singled, scoring two runs. Isaac Thornton earned the win for Raiders Baseball. The righty surrendered one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking two. Drew Sheppard and Luke Cummings each threw scoreless innings for the Raiders in relief.
 
Raider Baseball accumulated 10 hits in the game. Glynn Wilson led the team with three hits in five at bats from the leadoff position. Fielding and Voegely were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs a each. Blake Seefeldt collected two hits in three at bats. Raider Baseball had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Voegely, Logan Jeske, and Joseph Heard led the team with two free passes each. Raiders were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Gerardo Gonzales made the most plays with 10.
 
 
Game two: NCTC 7, Raiders 12
 
There were runs aplenty on in game two at NCTC, as Raider Baseball outshone the Lions 12-7. RSC collected 11 hits, while NCTC only had five. 
 
Raiders opened the scoring in the first inning after Wyatt Fielding drew a walk, scoring one run. 
 
NCTC laid down a sacrifice bunt, which helped NCTC tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. But, RSC flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on five hits to take a 7-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Kage Zeller that drove in two. 
 
Kenny Fabian earned the win. The righty gave up two hits and two runs over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking three. Jacob Hogan stepped on the mound first for the Raiders. He allowed two hits and five runs (one earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two. Dilion Palmer, Blake Seefeldt, and Tyler Root each came on in relief and shutdown NCTC.
 
RSC Baseball amassed 11 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Glynn Wilson led the team with three hits in four at bats. While Brodie Hinson collected two hits in four at bats. Fielding led in RBIs and walks with three runs batted in and three walks. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 10 walks for the game.
