Raider Softball Splits in Conference Opener with NOC-Enid

Raider Softball's conference opener ends in a split with a run rule victory in game two.

Game one; Jets 5, Raiders 4

Thursday's game one of the doubleheader against Northern Oklahoma College – Enid Jets was a heartbreaker for the Raiders, as they lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat. NOC was down 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning when a homerun to left field scored two runs.
 
The Jets opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth thanks to two home runs. Raiders answered back with Dallas Morrison driving in all four of the Raiders run in the top of the sixth inning.
 
Addison Wilson stepped in the circle first. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and five runs over five and one-third innings, striking out nine and walking one. Allison Lee closed out the last two-thirds inning, allowing only one hit. Morrison, Jordan Anthony-Baade, Keylee Beckwith, Kortney Griffith, Erin Doughty, Lauren Holmes, and Mia Corres each collected one hit.

Game two; Jets 2, Raiders 12 (5 innings)

Dallas Morrison drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Raiders past the Jets in a 12-2 run rule in game two. Morrison hit a home run to center field in the first inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the second inning, scoring one.
 
RSC opened the scoring in the top of the first with two home runs. The first three runs on the board came from a homerun to center field off the bat of Morrison. Skylar Wells scores the next run with a homerun to left field.
 
Three more runs crossed the plate for the Raiders in the second inning to extend the lead to 7-1. Kaysie Lee homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Morrison singled, scoring another.
 
NOC-Enid tried for a comeback, scoring one run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home.
 
Keylee Beckwith earned the win. The starter allowed five hits and two runs over the complete five innings, striking out seven and walking none.
 
Raiders piled up 13 hits in the game. Jordan Anthony-Baade led the team with four hits in her four at bats. Lauren Holmes, Mia Corres, and Morrison each collected multiple hits. Raiders had a clean sheet on defense with no errors commited on the field.
