Raider Softball's Trip To Poteau Ends With Two Wins

Raider Softball headed to Poteau for the day on Saturday and come back with two solid wins.
 
Game one; Southwest Tennessee CC 2, Raiders 6 
 
Raiders got on the board first with a run in the second inning after Caty Baack scored after tagging up on a sacrifice fly from Kortney Griffith.
 
They preceded to add to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Baack singled, and Keylee Beckwith grounded out, each scoring one run. Then, add another run in the top of the fourth with an RBI by Dallas Morrison, scoring Mia Corres.
 
Raiders continue to slowly add to their lead with two more runs in the sixth. A bunt by Lauren Holmes and a sacrifice fly by Jordan Anthony-Baade, each scoring one run.
 
Southwest Tennesse battles for a comeback in the bottom of the seventh, but their two runs just weren't enough for the lead the Raiders had.
 
Beckwith earned the win for Raiders pitching a complete game. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking four.
 
Raiders collected 13 hits with Griffith setting the tone at the top of the lineup, leading the team with three hits in five at bats. Anthony-Baade, Beckwith, Baack, Holmes, and Griffith each drove in one run for RSC. Mackinzie DeLong and Corres each collected multiple hits. Corres stole two bases.
 
Game two; Carl Albert State College 1, Raiders 16 (5 innings)
 
Caty Baack hit two home runs and drove in six as the Raiders defeated Carl Albert State College 15-1 on Saturday. 
 
Raiders hit the board first in the top of the first inning after Baack homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Mackinzie DeLong doubled, scoring one run.
 
Four more runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the Raider's lead to 7-1. Mia Corres homered to left field, scoring three runs, and Delong singled, scoring one run.
 
Allison Lee earned the win for the Raiders. The righty allowed five hits and one run over the five inning complete game, striking out one and walking one. 
 
RSC accumulated 15 hits in the game. Baack, DeLong, and Corres each collected three hits. Kortney Griffith collected two hits in three at bats. Griffith also stole two bases. Raiders worked the count all day, amassing seven walks.
