Tough Weekend for Raider Baseball Against the Blue Dragons

Friday, game one, Hutchinson 15, Raiders 2
 
Hutchinson Community College defeated Rose State Raiders 15-2 on Friday in game one of the weekend series thanks in part to eight runs in the eighth inning.
 
A double put the Blue Dragons on the board in the top of the third.
 
Raiders made the score 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Blake Seefeldt hit a solo home run to left field, and a passed ball scored one run.
 
Hutchinson scored eight runs on four hits in the top of the eighth inning giving them a large lead.
 
Isaac Thornton stepped on the hill first, surrendering eight hits and six runs (five earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking one.
 
Jordan Dehoyos, Barton, Joseph Heard, Seefeldt, and Gerardo Gonzales each collected one hit for the Raiders. Seefeldt led the team with one run batted in.
He went 1-for-3 on the day.
 
 
Saturday, game two, Hutchinson 10, Raiders 2
 
Raider Baseball had trouble keeping up with Hutchinson in a 10-2 loss on Saturday in the frigid temps. 
 
Raiders were the first to get on the board in the first when Wyatt Fielding grounded out, scoring one run.
 
The Blue Dragons grounded out, which helped them tie the game at one in the top of the second.
 
In the top of the third, Hutchinson broke up the tie when with a single, scoring two runs. Then a sacrifice fly followed to extend the lead to 4-1.
 
Tyler Root pitched four innings in relief for RSC. The reliever allowed two hits and two runs (zero earned) while, striking out two and walking one. Jacob Hogan took the loss as the starter. The southpaw went three and one-third innings, allowing eight runs (six earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking two.
 
Jordan Dehoyos, Glynn Wilson, and Blake Seefeldt each collected one hit. Fielding led the team with one run batted in.
 
The Raiders didn't commit a single error in the field and turned one double play in the game. 
 
RSC Baseball will travel to Tonkawa for their next game on Tuesday against Northern Oklahoma College - Tonkawa.
