RSC Soccer Earns 11 Region 2 Awards

Both men's and women's soccer teams took tough losses on Championship Sunday, walking away with runner-up. The Raiders gained many awards along the way, including six 1st Team All-Region 2 honors, three 2nd Team All-Region 2 honors, a Most Valuable Player, and a Co-Coach of the Year.
 
April Hill, a sophomore forward from Petersfield, England was named NJCAA Region 2 Most Valuable Player. Hill finished out the year starting in all 20 games, with 17 goals (tied for Region 2 goal leader), 8 assists, and 42 points (3rd in Region 2). Hill also gained First Team All-Region honors.
 
Women's soccer head coach Tommy Riley was recognized as Co-Coach of the Year for Region 2. Riley led his team to the best season RSC women's soccer has had yet, with as overall record of 15-3-2, conference record of 11-1-2, and the highest ranking during season of 7th in the nation. 
 

First Team All-Region 2
Alongside April Hill, women's soccer added Laura "Sofia" Carvajal Granados (So), Chelsie Hay (Fr) and Avery Holland (Fr) to the First Team All-Region 2 team. Grandados, from Bogota, Columbia is a forward, who ended the season tied with Hill as Region 2 goal leader with 17. She is also top 5 in the categories of points (2nd), assists (t-4th), and shots (4th) in Region 2. Hay, a native of Gosport, England, is a forward who started in 19 of 20 games with 12 goals and 5 assists. Holland, a local athlete from Moore, OK, started all 20 games of the season as a defender, logged 2 goals.
 
Men's soccer placed two Raiders on the First Team All-Region 2 team, Jack Jardine (Fr) and Justin Croke (So). Jardine, a striker from Scotland started in 18 of 19 games and recorded 16 goals and 3 assists. He finished as top goal scorer (16) and first in points (35) in Region 2. Croke, also a striker, native of Ireland started 18 of 19 games with 8 goals and 13 assists. He led Region 2 in assists (13) and shots (57). Croke also finished second in overall points right behind Jardine with (29) and fourth in goals (8).
 

Second Team All-Region 2
Men's soccer also added three to Second Team All-Region 2, Harvey Paul (So), Jusung Kang (So), and Abduquadri Bolakale (So). Paul, a left back from England, a team captain started in 15 of the 17 games he participated in. Kang, a right winger from South Korea, started 17 of the 18 games he played in, recorded 5 goals and 5 assists. Bolakale, a left winger from Nigeria, recorded 5 goals and 2 assists in the 14 games he participated in.
